Cyclocross Training

Cyclocross training incorporates several different skill sets, such as . Rriding your bike in various conditions, i.e. grass, sand, mud, snow, dirt and frozen surfaces. One of the next items you need to perfect in cyclocross training is clearning cyclocross barriers. Clearing the barriers involves dismounting the bike, then clearing the cyclocross barriers, and remounting the bike.

Since cyclocross race courses frequently have short, steep “run ups” where running skills come into play, you should also practice that when training for cyclocross.

Then there are the sand pits. Trying to ride through a sand pit takes skill and strength, so be sure to incorporate this into your cyclocross training routine. Practice both riding through the sand pit and running through it, as running through a sand pit with a bike isn’t easy either.

Consistent cyclocross training will make you a better cyclocross racer. That’s what Cross Propz are all about—making cyclocross training easy and fun in order to help you become a better cyclocross racer.

Cyclocross Training for Fitness

Not into cyclocross racing? That’s fine, in most locations you can hop into a cyclocross race just for the fitness. This sport offers an exceptional workout resulting in a noticeable level of fitness. Because cyclocross requires so many different skills, just riding the course will incorporate dismounting, running, re-mounting, negotiating sand and mud. Your bike handling skills will improve as well as your cardiovascular fitness and power.

Before you venture on to the course, grab your Cross Propz for a little cyclocross training practice, get together with friends for an informal Wednesday evening practice session. Even if you have no intention of racing, you’ll find these cyclocross training sessions are a lot of fun and a great way to get fit.
